Car Accident

An update is in order. Raegan, Titus, and I were driving up to DC on Thursday, and hit a patch of ice. A couple of seconds (and quite a few revolutions) later we stopped in some trees. We weren’t injured, and Titus was just a bit shaken up. The car is not quite totalled, but looks like we did upwards of $6000 of damage. *sigh* But insurance should cover everything.

Raegan did a great job when it came to the actual accident: we threaded our way through a couple of cars, being careful not to hit any of them. Then she guided us past the bigger trees, choosing rather the flexible saplings to slow us down and bring us to a stop.

I should reiterate that we’re all safe, and everything’s being taken care of. In the meantime, I’m driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT Convertible… I went to the rental company expecting a Chevy Malibu, and they gave me this. Go figure.

Windows shortcuts

Here’s a list of Windows shortcuts. I know it’s not a comprehensive list, but it’s still worth mentioning.

Hah!

Today my company had breakfast for everyone. An email went around, saying that breakfast would be offered in the cafeteria, and for everyone to just have one serving. I was kinda excited, looking forward to some bacon, scrambled eggs, toast. Maybe they’d even have cheese in the eggs!

Muffins, donuts, bagels. That’s the breakfast. Now, normally I love donuts. But for crying out loud, this is not breakfast. That’s the kind of meal I’d make for myself before I was married. I stupidly set my heart on a hot breakfast, and got stuck with a muffin that was too sweet.

Arg.

dvd burner

I have a DVD-ROM drive at work. woohoo! I asked my boss for one, and he balked, until I mentioned they were $25. He said Ok. I think he was thinking I wanted a DVD burner. Those aren’t $25.

Maybe soon I’ll get the courage to ask for two 19″ LCD monitors…I want those height adjustable ones so I can get these big grey risers off my desk.

Network Nomad

I think I’ve been looking for this for quite sometime… just didn’t know it was out there.
