@#$%@^

I’m taking a database administration class for ODU. We each have our own database, and the default logins are the same for everyone. So I’m getting ready to do some homework over my lunch hour, and I discover that my tables are gone. I’ve been considering asking how to change the passwords (we’re using command line tools, and nothing is intuitive), but figured it wouldn’t be a big deal to leave the passwords the same for now. Certainly I could wait until class… right? Ha! Someone in my class is a real jerk.

I’m so sick of being in college. Full of immature kids who think smoking weed is cool.

Legalized Forced Prostitution in Germany

In Germany, if you’re out of work, then you receive unemployment benefits. But if you get offered a job, and turn it down, then you don’t receive unemployment benefits anymore. Sound fair? It sure does, until you realize that brothels were legalized 3 years ago, and pimps owners are now using the job centers to search for prostitutes employees. If someone refuses the job, they lose their unemployment benefits.

See for yourself.

This is why it bothers me when people say, “We as Americans have to consider what Europeans think of us!” Europe has been sliding into immorality for quite a long time. In fact, I believe that’s the whole raison d’être behind the Mayflower and all that. Please tell me why I want to do anything like the Europeans!

Dell Technical Support

I like Dell. I know people say they’re cheap computers and support sucks, but I think those people are just buying the crappy computers. I have a Dell Precision 450 Workstation (dual Xeon, 1 GB RAM) and I think it’s fabulous. My CD burner crapped out on me, and I called through to the support line for Precisions and got a knowledgable guy who asked me a couple questions said, “yup - bad drive” and is sending one out to me as we speak.

I got routed to support for normal desktops, and I was speaking with an Indian lady who seemed like everything I said was a surprise. When she realized I had a Precision (had to tell her twice) she gave me the number for the other group, but instead of transferring me, she disconnected me. So I get over to the other group and Mike handled my problem and just did a great job.

I asked him if I should use the packaging and he said an email would contain instructions. Before I got off the phone with him the email was there. Very good stuff.

282

Lord, please heal Joel’s mom - you are Jehovah Rapha, the God Who Heals. I stand on this promise you have made to us. “Let God be true, and every man be a liar.” Cancer is no bigger than a fever or a scrape on the arm to Him who is able to forgive sins.

but i liked my glitch!

I found a glitch, allowing me to circumvent our firewall here at work. I used Yahoo! messenger, and I was happy. Then I messed up Internet Explorer (don’t ask) and I had to use MSN Messenger.

Now our IT guys have fixed the glitch, and I am now unable to communicate with anyone outside work. Unless I use email. Or the phone. Or my cell phone. Or text messaging on my cell phone.

So lonely.
