gmail invite
I have a gmail invite, if anyone wants it.
[edit 8/16/2004]
Ok. gmail is the new email service put out by Google. They offer 1 GB of free email service. The only catch is that they display ads beside your inbox based on the content of your emails.
This might sound 1984ish, but it’s really quite nice. I’ve had some email conversations about jobs, and the google ads are for job boards. I had a conversation about pine trees & hurricanes, and there were links for a tree removal service. Honestly, I’d rather have this than random ads. I barely notice them.
The web app is pretty slick as well. They map the keys so you can do keyboard shortcuts. it’s a very rich web app, almost like a desktop app. Searching is supposed to be very fast, but I don’t have enough emails to really tell yet.

Home Ownership
Here’s the article I was looking for. My problem was that it’s not on The Onion, it’s from SatireWire.

We bought a house! w00t!!!
actually, we put in a bid on a house, and they accepted it, and now we’re just trying to close on the house. the house is in Riverdale, in Hampton. I’ll post pictures as soon as I get some.
After Ken Phaup told us the news last night (the greatest realtor in the world - I highly recommend him for the Hampton Roads area), Raegan and I went to Lowe’s and wandered around in breathless anticipation. That reminds me… I need to get a refrigerator…
More news forthcoming!
ps - anyone have a link to the onion article about the couple buying a house, but how really the bank owns the house? anyone? bueller?
