Kaizen redux
Ok. a few months back I blogged about Kaizen, which is Japanese for continuous improvements. I said I was going to do 5 things. I haven’t done any of them. ack! Ok, I have played my guitar more, but certainly not daily. So here we go again. I guess I can update this every quarter and see how I’m doing…
- dress better at work
- improve fitness/lose weight
- schedule my time better (this has actually been improving somewhat, but i’d like to do better)
- write a tech article once a month. maybe i’ll start by just reviving my “what i’ve accomplished this month”
So anyway, there we go. Let’s see how the next four months work out with this.

Reading, ‘Riting, ‘Rithmetic, Rental Agreements
I just read about this on another weblog…
A fourth grade teacher is teaching her kids the principles of saving money. She gives each kid a salary of fake money. they can buy cheap toys with it. they also have to pay rent on their desk. but they can save up and buy their desk, and they can buy other people’s desk. then other students have to pay rent to them.
isn’t that a great idea? If I were a teacher in elementary school, that’s what I’d do with my kids. I’m trying to buy a house now, and it’s not easy. I kinda wish I hadn’t spent so much on the cheap, flashy toys. Oh well.
