daylight savings time

well, one of my favorite ladies at work is telling the same story over and over and over. on the speaker phone. loudly. she reset the time on the mainframe sunday morning manually at 1:50am. the correct time was displayed on sunday, and on monday. tuesday morning, she gets an email saying, “hey! you forgot to change the time for daylight savings on the mainframe, so i did it for you.” well, my co-worker says, “that’s odd - wonder how it got changed…”

she suspects it was changed by someone in puerto rico (crazy puerto ricans!) who don’t observe DST. it’s a big mystery, and this story must be told to everyone. that’s why i have told it to you. i shall start composing an email chain letter… eventually this will appear in www.snopes.com as a little green circle saying, “yes, the mainframe really was reset, then changed back, then reset again during that fateful fall of 2003…”

i need to work from home more often.

this journal

you know, i just read back over my past 20 journal entries. i have to admit, i feel sorry for anyone that relies on this to figure out what’s going on in my life. i keep mentioning things that are happening, then offline something entirely different happens, and i don’t ever mention that subject again. weird. it’s kinda like i have trouble focusing on the task at hand. well, i’m here to tell you that it’s not going to happen anymore. from now on, i’m a new person! i shall update my blog consistently and timely! i will …

crap. i lost my train of thought - got distracted by the empty coke bottle sitting on my desk. staring at the cubicle wall…

there are cool LCD’s on my computer at work that light up to give you the current status of the computer. pretty neat stuff.

cookies

Raegan and I made oatmeal cookies. aaaaah… such a wonderful smell. turns out setting the gauge to 225 is a perfect 350 actual temperature for cookies. our oven sucks.

i love oatmeal & raisin cookies. the antithesis of chocalate chip cookies, just the right blend of cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla, oats & raisins… it’s a beautiful thing.
