update

i quit my job over a month ago. no job offer on the table. this is the first time i’ve ever just resigned without a backup plan – i don’t really recommend it, especially when your fiancee is moving up to the area and you don’t have any source of income. but there are those times when you just have to say, “enough.” so anyway, i have a couple prospects, but it looks like i’m going to take a position in Richmond. i keep trying to get something going around here, and nothing is really panning out for me. s

so until i move to Richmond, it will be a 2 hour, one way commute. ugh. i’m not really looking forward to it, but the alternative (blow through savings like locusts through a corn field) isn’t really attractive either. this job in richmond is really what i’m looking for – Software Engineer, doing .NET stuff, with a roughly 20% pay raise over what i was making at my old job. so in the end, i think it’s for the best that i quit my other position.
