new job

well, i am now gainfully employed. After 49 days without a job, I have another job. Yup, that’s 7 weeks. Interesting, no? This position is in Richmond, and I’m a Software Engineer. Our company handles all the communication between most colleges and their new prospective students. We make online applications and stuff like that. It’s interesting work. The killer is the drive - currently it’s 2 hrs each way. But hopefully Raegan & I will be able to find a place up there soon…

wedding stuff

Well, we did it. After dragging our feet for some 6 weeks now, Raegan & I have finally registered for our wedding. We’re registered at Target. It actually was kinda fun once we started - we were given a little scanner gun and we walked around the store going “boopbeep” and “beebeeboop”. I enjoyed myself.

Changes coming down the pike…

well, i’m going on a diet. i’m 255 right now, and i would like to get down to 240 before the wedding, and eventually get down to 205. which approach am i taking? i’m doing the high-protein thing. cutting out all carbs for two weeks, which means no bread, no sodas, no ice cream, no sugar, no chocolate, etc. i’m sticking to steak, eggs, salads (watch the dressing!), fish, poultry, etc. i was going to load up on bacon, but i want to cut out nitrites from my diet, and pretty much all bacon is loaded with sodium nitrite. this is a carcinogen, supposedly. but i’m not taking any chances. oh yeah, i’m not drinking, eating, or otherwise ingesting caffeine. so lots of water is on the menu.
